Association Services Group takes pride in our five core values, one of which is the pursuit of excellence. Dolores Thomason, director of accounting and 8-year employee at ASG, recently reached a top tier. Her hard work and perseverance paid off as she completed the required courses necessary to become a certified accounting paraprofessional, CAP.
The Certified Accounting Paraprofessional license is the premiere accreditation for accounting paraprofessionals across the United States. It is accredited by the National Association of Certified Accounting Professionals (NACAP). The CAP license is a well sought-after certification among accounting paraprofessionals working for firms that provide bookkeeping, accounting, payroll and tax services.
Earlier this year, Dolores obtained her certification of public bookkeeper license, CPB, through the National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers, NACPB. This certification assures companies of their employees’ bookkeeping knowledge and skills.
Dolores began studying for both exams in January 2020. According to Dolores, she had to pass five tests for each license in order to receive both certifications.
“I love ASG and will always strive to be the best that I can be at my job,” Dolores said. “I feel like this is an accomplishment that will assure new business of our capabilities in the accounting department and reassure them that we are up on the current GAAP standards.”
ASG Chief Executive Officer Charles Hall expressed his congratulations to Dolores for her professional achievements, noting the new level of expertise this certification brings to ASG.
“This recognition reinforces that our team works hard to maintain the highest standards of customer service, professionalism and expertise for our clients,” Hall stated. “The addition of these certifications will certainly enhance the management skills and strong work ethic already in place at ASG.”
Dolores began her career at ASG in October, 2012 as an entry level accounting assistant / GEPS customer service representative. In 2015 she became a senior accountant. Two years later she became the assistant director of accounting.
